Ksenia is senior researcher at the Center for Internet and Society of the CNRS and The Citizen Lab (University of Toronto). She is also involved as a UX researcher with eQualit.ie and Merlinux, conducting user-research, community work, and field testing for decentralized free software projects such as Delta Chat, Ceno browser ,and Ouisync.

Ksenia holds a PhD in socio-economy of innovation from Mines Paris Tech. Her research interests lie on the intersection of STS and network measurements, with a focus on studying information control and circumvention technologies in war and conflcit zones. She is the author of many academic papers on the topic. Her recent book called Concealing for Freedom, co-authored with Francesca Musiani, explores the scene of end-to-end encrypted messengers and encryption protocols.
