Joanna is a Senior Programme Officer at ARTICLE 19 Europe and Central Asia, focusing on freedom of expression issues across the Eurasia region – including media freedom, civic space, and digital rights. She is an experienced project coordinator, trainer, and researcher, having contributed to several publications on content moderation, digital authoritarianism, and hate speech.

Prior to joining ARTICLE 19, Joanna worked at Freedom House Vilnius office and as an assistant to the General Rapporteur on the rights of LGBT people of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She holds an M.A. in Russian studies from the University of Gdansk and a postgraduate diploma in International Law from Warsaw University.
