Jason Aul joined OTF as the Director of Communications and Outreach. As the Director, Communications and Outreach, Jason is responsible for shaping and implementing OTF’s profile among stakeholders, including Congressional representatives, relevant media, coalition partners, and the broader Internet freedom community.
Jason has a career-long background in communications, public affairs, and marketing, mostly recently as the Executive Director of Visit St. Mary’s MD, where he led all external relations for the organization. Jason’s work included engaging with the media, attracting new business to both the organization and the community, and producing marketing and communications material that improved the destination’s overall profile. Previously, Jason managed public affairs and public policy efforts for Brand USA, the nation’s destination marketing level, where he regularly worked with both the U.S. government and members of the international travel-trade community. Jason also worked for the Confederation of British Industry in Washington, DC, where he managed the organization’s broader internet and cybersecurity policy portfolio.
Jason graduated from Northwestern University with an MA in Public Administration and Public Policy, and from George Washington University with a BA in Political Science.
