Bryan Nunez joined OTF as the Vice President of Technology in 2022. Bryan leads OTF’s efforts to support internet freedom technologies, drive innovation, and support individuals and organizations protecting the free flow of information, press freedom, and human rights around the globe.

Bryan previously served as a member of OTF’s all-volunteer Advisory Council, where he provided insight to ensure that OTF’s Internet Freedom Fund proposals are competitive and support the needs of the internet freedom community.

Prior to joining OTF, Bryan worked as a program officer with the Open Society Foundations’ Human Rights Initiative and Information Program, supporting efforts to strengthen the technology infrastructure and digital transformation of civil society organizations.  Bryan was previously a member of the Guardian Project, an open-source mobile-security software organization. He has also served as the Head of Technology at WITNESS, where he worked on the first online human rights video platform, as well as mobile tools for collecting visual human rights documentation.

Bryan is an alumnus of the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He holds an undergraduate degree in anthropology from University of California, Berkeley.
