Position Summary

The Open Technology Fund is seeking a driven, focused, passionate, and engaged Operations Specialist to support OTF’s non-programmatic operations. The Operations Specialist will support OTF in the execution of financial, contracting, and communications functions to ensure that the organization operates seamlessly and delivers on its mission nimbly. The ideal candidate for the position will be organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at multitasking as well as enthusiastic about learning new skills. The Operations Specialist will work to proactively identify opportunities for improvement within OTF’s operations and work cooperatively with multiple departments to implement changes. This position requires a passion for working collaboratively with diverse global communities who are actively countering threats to internet freedom, independent journalism, and human rights with technology-backed solutions.


*Design, implement, and update tracking systems to organize and streamline OTF workflows.

*Coordinate with the OTF program team to file, collect, and retrieve necessary information and supporting documentation for OTF compliance and financial needs.

*Collect physical documentation and facilitate digital operations through scanning, compiling and uploading to OTF shared drive.

*Prepare financial statements, contracts, reports, memos, invoices, letters, and other documents under the guidance of the CFO.

*Track and process invoices and receipts under the direction of the finance team.

*Under the direction of the OTF Counsel, collect required documentation and draft documents for procurement and/or contracting purposes.

*Organize, manage, and update shared drives and project folders to enable logical intuitive navigation and ensure references between related files are maintained.

*Conduct research and prepare reports for OTF staff and Board as assigned.

The Operations Specialist is expected to fulfill other essential duties as discussed and assigned by OTF leadership.

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will possess a level of education that, when combined with your professional experience, will adequately show that you have the capability to contribute meaningfully at OTF. Candidates who have relevant academic degrees or certifications are encouraged to apply but this is a plus, no a requirement. The ideal candidate will have: proven experience providing operational and other relevant administrative, accounting, procurement and outreach support; experience working with, and an in depth understanding of, the entire MS Office Suite and G-Suite; ability to organize a daily workload with competing priorities; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment. Experience working with a federally funded non-profit organization preferred but not required.

Salary $80,000 to $100,000 annually commensurate with qualifications and experience.
