The Suspicious Email Submitter is an extension for common web browsers and email clients that enables the user in one-click to submit a suspicious email with all the information necessary to a pre-configured destination for further analysis.
Malware delivery and phishing of civil society via email is becoming increasingly sophisticated and a more recurring threat. In response, this extension was built for common web browsers that enables the user in one-click to submit a suspicious email with all the information necessary to a pre-configured destination for further analysis.
The extension has been built to be easily configurable for use by other organizations and communities both within and beyond the Internet Freedom space. This extension will help rapid responders and other digital security researchers to receive and evaluate suspicious emails sent to civil society, activists and other people who may be targeted for their activities online.
This project was submitted by the Computer Incident Response Center for Civil Society (CiviCERT), representing the needs of the at-risk communities Rapid Response Network member organizations serve, as well as the needs identified by other organizations within the Internet Freedom space such as Amnesty International.
