SHARE Foundation was established in 2012 to advance human rights and freedoms online and promote positive values of an open and decentralized web, as well as free access to information, knowledge, and technology.

Their digital security team, SHARE CERT, monitors and analyzes security threats in the online and citizen media infrastructure in Serbia, provides assistance in identifying and preventing threats, and more. They have joined forces with international partners, such as Amnesty Tech and Access Now, to exchange information, knowledge, and expertise in the field of digital forensics.

Recognizing the lack of initiatives and programs that provide a stable research base to detect and combat digital threats in Serbia, SHARE’s OTF-supported Digital Rights & Internet Fellowship aims to empower students to conduct research on the technical capabilities of modern spyware and analyze the consequences of spyware abuse for human rights.

Students will engage in workshops, hands-on research projects, and receive mentorship—gaining expertise in spyware targeting methods, capabilities, and digital forensics tools like Mobile Verification Toolkit (MVT) and Android Quick Forensics (AndroidQF). They will also learn how to securely extract and store forensic data while maintaining confidentiality. Additionally, the project promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation, offering students valuable networking opportunities with leading members of civil society, researchers, and peers.
