SecondMuse is applying a human-centered design approach to better understand the needs of activists in the MENA region, specifically Tunisian journalists.

This project provides value for journalists in Tunisia, netizens in the general MENA region, the Internet Freedom community of developers, intermediaries, as well as supporters, such as funders. A greater understanding of security and software needs and concerns within this high-risk community can generate a greater body of knowledge for other organizations and individuals looking to support local groups’ initiatives for an open internet. Findings gathered during interviews and qualitative research will also identify themes and cultural and regional relevancies to help developers create more effective and intuitive tools to fit a localized and specific need.
