This project works with researchers around the globe to update Citizen Lab’s test lists that network measurement tools use to uncover blocking of websites.
Netalitica is a research-oriented organization focusing on investigation of information controls and Internet filtering in censorship hot spots around the world. The project is working with researchers around the globe to update Citizen Lab’s test lists that network measurement tools use to uncover blocking of websites. While network probes have greatly evolved over the years, test lists for some countries and regions have seen little updates, which negatively affects the quality of collected measurements. Netalitica’s team of country specialists are addressing this problem by updating these lists with fresh URLs, cleaning them from faulty entries and advancing recommendations for streamlining the process of lists revision. This is being done in collaboration with other stakeholders and grassroots organizations, operating in the areas serviced by the project.
