The event brings together the Global Voice community, which includes civil society members working in hostile and difficult information environments in the Global South. The 2017 Summit was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and welcomed members from over 60 countries for topics including threats to online speech, safety and reporting online, threats facing region-specific bloggers, and internet freedom tool demos.
