Online spaces for marginalized and vulnerable groups in Pakistan are shrinking. State censorship and surveillance in the country are at an all-time high. Individuals face digital attacks and threats and often lack the capacity and expertise to deal with them efficiently.
Digital Rights Foundation (DRF) will build up digital security support for civil society groups, while providing critical assessments of the impact of internet freedom tools on these communities. Building on their current help desk, DRF will conduct a needs-finding survey and conduct tool-based workshops for civil society in need. They will support civil society community leaders to monitor and document online censorship and digital attacks in the country and support DRF’s work to build capacity in this critical space. DRF will also share reports detailing information gathered with community members.
