Our project seeks to enlarge the number of members, broaden the geographical regions and expand the focused areas in the China In The World (CITW) Network, administered by Doublethink Lab. By bringing together experts, researchers, civil society practitioners, and digital rights activists, we hope that the CITW 2023 Summit can act as a platform to address and delve deeper into the challenges of the constantly evolving and nuanced forms of digital repression, authoritarian technology, and censorship tactics utilized by China, which concern both internet freedom communities and human rights activists from Hong Kong, Tibet, and Uyghur.

We also aim to facilitate cross-regional and multi-sector exchange collaboration to strengthen the study of China’s authoritarian influences, particularly in the areas of internet freedom, digital surveillance, and censorship.
