Edin is Program Manager of the Technology program at the Open Society Foundations where he works with partners around the world to protect societies against tech-driven authoritarianism and rights abuses.
Previously, he was Advocacy Director of London-based Privacy International and has worked in research and policy roles at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and at the UK’s data protection and freedom of information regulator. Edin was also an OTF grantee in 2022 where led a project tracking the global surveillance industry.
He is particularly interested in surveillance technology, its proliferation and regulation, and in supporting efforts by researchers, journalists, and civil society groups around the world working to expose and challenge surveillance.
