Stefania Milan is an Assistant Professor of New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam
Stefania is a researcher, writer and digital rights activist whose work explores the intersection of technology, governance and activism. She is an Associate Professor of New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam and Associate Professor (II) of Media Innovation at the University of Oslo. She is also the Principal Investigator of the ERC-funded project DATACTIVE, and the founding director of the DATACTIVE Ideas Lab, a consultancy agency [italiano qui].
Stefania is passionate about the interplay between technologies and society, and in particular is interested in the possibilities of self organization, emancipation, and autonomy that digital technology opens up. A political scientist by formation, she values interdisciplinary research, and feels most at home at the intersection of a variety of fields, including critical data studies, social movement studies, and science and technology studies.
